Wilson gets support in Senate 27 contest

By Joe Wilson

This November your vote for Joe Wilson for Senate District 27 represents a voice for change.

Because this is the most important time in North Carolina politics, your voice and vote have important value. With proposed legislative changes in critical areas, the election is about change, protecting your voice, rights and quality of life.

Joe Wilson’s primary campaign funds are from individual donations. Because Joe Wilson will not take special-interest corporate dollars, this removes him from being under that unbridled corrupting lobbying influence. What this really means is a vote for Joe Wilson puts your voice in Raleigh.

District 27 concerns are about Guilford County issues. Joe Wilson will carry your voice to Raleigh on taxes, economic development, crime and public safety, education reform, property rights and mental heath reform.

He will transcend party lines and help bring an end to the political “party games” in Raleigh. Your voice will be heard in the General Assembly by electing him.

Wow 1964 was a long time ago. DukeBlue1964,without going into a lot of big words and rithmetic’ I can’t explain this one to you.

Let’s just say you need to review campaign finance laws before you make comments like this one. Please ask about the decision triggered by Pat McCrory this year and I think perhaps you will understand what happened with my report.Incidentally my treasurer has had the mandatory training and has a degree in accounting and economics as well.I am very serious about campaign reform and candidate’s ethics as well.

While you are at it why not ask my opponent how long he intends to stay in violation of state law regarding contribution limits from a single contributor,he has 3 over the $4000.00 limit now.

Then perhaps ask why over 13,000 dollars in expenditures still remains undisclosed from his online report. Thanks for your concern, perhaps you should consider taking the mandatory training.

And if you are as I suspect a contributor to my opponents campaign, I would ask him how he historically has closed his campaign account,I can tell you, he prefers to write a check to himself for the balance. Review campaign reports in his past for yourself, since I am just a beginner.

I do not know what changes in campaign finance law that Pat McCrory impacted.

I do know that, in a letter dated April 14th (available on-line) the State Board of Elections said that you failed to submit a Statement of Organization, Certification of Treasurer and Organizational Report within the mandatory time period that is required by state law. It was not until after they notified you, in writing, that you complied.

In 2006, when he closed his City Council Campaign he donated $11,518.34 to his church’s Children’s Fund.

And, yes, I am a contributor.

Joe I’m surprised it’s taken you so long to read my post above. But I’m sure you’ve been very busy. Anyway it’s given me a few days to look into your claim that Vaughan exceeded the $4000 maximum for individual contributors.

According to the board of elections please refer to section 163-278-13. Limits on contributions. It states (a) No individual, political committee, or other entity shall contribute to any candidate or other political committee any money or make any other contribution in any election in excess of four thousand dollars ($4,000.) for that election.

But you can’t stop read there…

YOU HAVE TO READ SECTION (d) TO SEE HOW AN “ELECTION” IS CLASSIFIED.

    (d) For the purposes of this section, the term “an election” means any primary, second primary, or general election in which the candidate or political committee may be involved, WITHOUT REGARD TO WHETHER THE CANDIDATE IS OPPOSED OR UNOPPOSED IN THE ELECTION,”

There was a May primary and according to the BOE a candidate is entitled to accept contributions of up to $4000 before the primary (even if the candidate is unopposed in that primary) and an additional $4000 before the general election.

The BOE told me that this information is included in your 2008-2009 Campaign Finance Manual. (It came with the mandatory training.) I guess Vaughan read his.

Well Joe, now that I’ve cleared that up for you. Tell me about the alleged $13000.00 in undisclosed campaign expenditures. With a few phone calls I might be able to answer that for you too.

Without going into a lot of big words and rithmetic I hope I cleared that up for you.

Hey DOOK Blue 1964 while you are at it quoting North Carolina General Statutes try this one for Vaighan’s campaign treasurer and I am sure Mr. Vaughan read the manuel.

§ 163‑278.11. Contents of treasurer’s statement of receipts and expenditures.

    (a) Statements filed pursuant to provisions of this Article shall set forth the following:

    (1) Contributions. – Except as provided in subsection (a1) of this section, a list of all contributions received by or on behalf of a candidate, political committee, or referendum committee. The statement shall list the name and complete mailing address of each contributor, the amount contributed, the principal occupation of the contributor, and the date such contribution was received. The total sum of all contributions to date shall be plainly exhibited. Forms for required reports shall be prescribed by the Board. As used in this section, “principal occupation of the contributor” means the contributor’s:

    a. Job title or profession; and

    b. Employer’s name or employer’s specific field of business activity

Here are some of his contributors that need to understand the statute above which means name, address ,employer and job title

Kelly Harrill, Stephanie Craft and Lisa Johnson are trust fund recipients and need a employer and it is Koury, their job title is real estate investments yea right.

Doug Galyon is not retired he is just chairman of North Carolina Department of transportation.

Debby Kern has employers name as real estate , nice company name.

Elizabeth Green job title non profit but what is employer name?

Maurice Hull no employer but in real estate investments

Johm Lamb employer is lamb distributing , think lame dist. is long gone as a company

    stephen marks no employer

w.s. morris no employer but let me help you out can anyone say Fairway Outdoor Advertising

    sandra o conner no address

    Kelly Marks no employer

As you can see by what the North Carolina General Statutes states, please fill in those blanks that need fixing . The lax participation of all of these local treasurers from winstead to de priest to skip alston need to come to a end.Time for accountability on these campaigns and Don Vaughan is one that needs fixing. Let’s also see what the third quarter has to offer.
